Each year the Col. James Wood, II Chapter seeks to recognize those individuals in our community who have provided lifelong and exceptional contributions to the communities in which they live. These individuals are business owners, founders and members of local civic and veterans organizations, public servants and others who develop initiatives and local projects, fundraise for charitable works and volunteer their time, money and expertise to the community at large.

There is a documentation requirement and approval process. If selected, the awardee and a guest will be invited to attend our Annual Public Service Awards Ceremony held in November and presented with their award. The selected awardee with have their names entered into the State Level Recognition Awards Contest. State Award winners are entered into our National Level Contest and garner significant recognition.

The Good Citizen Award Recipient must reside in Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Page or Shenandoah Counties or the City of Winchester.
